The American Tower Foundation

One way we demonstrate our commitment to communities is through the Foundation. Launched in 2017, the Foundation’s mission is to focus on education and technology use to empower students, teachers and communities in need worldwide. Through grants, the Foundation facilitates partnerships with charitable organizations, such as school districts and youth development agencies, that support hands-on technology-based learning, increased student participation in robotics, and STEM programs that offer access to higher education for underrepresented, high-potential students.

Digital Communities

1 No poverty. 2 Quality Education. 5 Gender Equality.

As a global, digital infrastructure company, our operations are critical to the communities where we work and investing in those communities is core to our business. We recognize that access and adoption of broadband internet can improve quality of life, and more fundamentally, can lead to opportunities for education and career development, as well as improve access to healthcare and financial support services. Therefore, we invest in Digital Communities and seek to build a more equitable life through utilizing connectivity.

Digital Communities are digitally connected spaces, equipped with Information and Communication Technology, providing instructor-led or self-guided digital literacy and youth education instruction, financial literacy and career skilling, or healthcare services with an aim to improve quality of life through connectivity.

Providing Disaster Relief

Diaster Relief

During natural disasters, American Tower infrastructure is critical in supporting public safety and relief efforts. During and immediately after such an event, our first priority is ensuring that all our employees are safe. Next, our Network Operations Center focuses on securing our assets, including making sure generators are fueled and fully functional, coordinating with our customers and placing inspectors on standby. After the storm has passed, all damage and issues identified are assessed and addressed based on criticality, with safety, service and access issues prioritized first. Beyond our towers being critical to disaster recovery efforts, American Tower also provides financial support to populations impacted by natural disasters.

People

A great company is made up of great people. American Tower’s diverse team of employees reaches far across the globe—with offices from Boston to Sao Paulo, to Johannesburg, and to New Delhi. And every one of our employees, no matter where they are, understands that teamwork and open communications are the foundations of our organization.

Although we have offices in different countries with different cultures, there is one element that guides and unites us—no matter where we work. Our Core Principles define who we are, how we conduct our business and are key to our continuing success.

Workforce diversity gives American Tower a strategic advantage, as it brings fresh ideas into the business and helps us stay better connected to our tenants and communities. Our employees across the globe bring unique perspectives and come to us with different backgrounds, cultures and experiences. We know these differences help drive innovation and long-term success.

EEO-1 Report

  • The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) requires employers to submit an EEO-1 report on an annual basis. The data is submitted annually for the year prior (e.g., 2021 data submitted to the EEOC in 2022).
  • We employ approximately 6,100 employees in 25 countries around the globe. The data included in our EEO-1 report reflects our U.S. operations only per the scope of the EEOC.
  • The job categories in the EEO-1 report below are provided by the EEOC and encompass a broad range of American Tower job titles and levels.
